Trump Intends to Supply Tomahawk Missiles to Ukraine

DID Press: US President Donald Trump is reportedly considering Ukraine’s request for long-range Tomahawk missiles, a move that can alter balance of the conflict and increase the risk of a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO.

According to RT, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed that Washington is reviewing the potential supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. The request followed a direct appeal from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Reports from Wall Street Journal and The Telegraph indicate that Trump did not oppose the request during the meeting and even welcomed lifting restrictions on Ukraine’s use of U.S. weapons for strikes on Russian territory, although he did not make a formal commitment.

Previously, Trump had opposed such arms transfers, according to Axios. Vance noted that providing the missiles via other NATO members for delivery to Kyiv is also under consideration.

Trump’s special envoy, Keith Kogge, confirmed Zelensky’s request but said: “No final decision has been made yet.”

Tomahawk missiles, with an approximate range of 2,500 kilometers, are capable of carrying nuclear warheads. Moscow has repeatedly warned that supplying Western weapons to Ukraine will not decisively affect the outcome of the war but may prolong the conflict and increase the risk of direct Russia-NATO confrontation.
