DID Press: An Israeli soldier has died after being stung by a bee in northern Israel, in what local media have described as another in a series of unusual nature-related incidents affecting Israeli forces.
The fatal incident occurred shortly after previous reports of bee attacks on Israeli troops stationed in the Gaza Strip. Over the past several months, Israeli soldiers have reportedly faced multiple unexpected encounters with wildlife.
In May, a swarm of wild bees attacked a group of Israeli soldiers in Gaza, sending at least eleven to the hospital.
Earlier, in late February, an Egyptian lynx reportedly crossed the border into Israeli-controlled territory and attacked several soldiers.
Observers have noted that such incidents serve as a reminder that military forces can face threats not only from human conflict but also from the unpredictable forces of nature.
