Egypt, US Jointly Invite Pakistan’s Shahbaz Sharif to Gaza Summit

DID Press: Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif will travel to Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday at the joint invitation of the presidents of Egypt and the United States to attend a peace conference on recent developments in Gaza.

Sharif will participate in the International Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, which will focus on assessing the humanitarian and political situation in the Gaza Strip.

In an official statement, Islamabad reaffirmed its support for ongoing efforts aimed at ending the violence and launching a credible political process.

The Pakistani government reiterated its call for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Pakistan has repeatedly stressed the need to end the occupation and ensure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, describing Shahbaz Sharif’s participation in the summit as a clear sign of Islamabad’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause.
