Turkey Back Up Peace Efforts Between Afghanistan-Pakistan

DID Press: Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and the Taliban, brokered through Turkish and Qatari mediation, and reaffirmed its commitment to support regional peace initiatives.

In an official statement released on Sunday (October 19), the ministry said Turkey “welcomes the decision of both parties to establish mechanisms aimed at strengthening peace and stability between the two countries” and expressed sincere appreciation for Qatar’s efforts as host of the Doha negotiations.

The statement further emphasized that Ankara remains committed to its constructive role in supporting peace processes, reducing tensions, and promoting lasting stability between nations and across the broader region.
