Saudi Arabia Hails Islamabad-Kabul Peace Initiative
DID Press: Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry hailed immediate ceasefire agreement between Kabul and Islamabad, as well as the establishment of mechanisms aimed at promoting lasting peace and stability between the two neighboring countries.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry said Riyadh “supports all regional and international efforts that promote peace and stability” and remains committed to safeguarding security in pursuit of prosperity for the “brotherly peoples of Pakistan and Afghanistan.”
The statement hoped this positive step will help ease border tensions and strengthen bilateral relations between the two sides.
Saudi Arabia also praised diplomatic efforts and constructive mediation of Qatar and Turkey in facilitating the agreement, adding that cooperation among Islamic nations can pave the way for greater regional stability and unity.
The ceasefire between Kabul and Islamabad was brokered in Doha following deadly clashes along the border. However, analysts remain cautious about whether the underlying causes of the violence have been fully addressed.
