US Detains Nearly 500,000 Undocumented Migrants in Under a Year
DID Press: US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that over 480,000 undocumented migrants have been arrested across the United States since January. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed that about 70 percent of those detained have criminal records or pending charges.

“Since the beginning of the year, the Department of Homeland Security has arrested over 480,000 undocumented migrants with criminal histories. We are strengthening security across the country so families can live in peace and freedom,” said Noem, Speaking at a press conference in Florida on Monday.
The figures reflect Trump administration’s renewed hardline immigration policy during his second term, with a particular focus on enforcing migration laws and deporting undocumented residents.
According to earlier DHS reports, since January 20, roughly two million undocumented migrants have left the United States — about 1.6 million voluntarily and more than 400,000 through formal deportations — all within less than 250 days.
