Kabul to Maintain Regional Security Ties Despite Interpol Unit Closure
DID Press: Taliban’s Acting Ministry of Interior has announced the disbandment of its Interpol police unit, emphasizing that regional and international security cooperation will continue through official channels.

Spokesperson Abdul Mateen Qane said the government remains committed to strengthening cross-border collaboration to maintain stability, combat extremist groups such as ISIS, and curb drug trafficking from neighboring countries. He stressed that ensuring regional security requires mutual trust and direct dialogue among neighboring states.
The announcement follows a recent call by Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister to establish a direct communication channel between Tehran and Kabul intelligence agencies to enhance security coordination.
