Pakistan: No Final Decision Yet on Troop Deployment to Gaza

DID Press: Pakistan’s Defense Minister clarified that no final decision has been made regarding the deployment of Pakistani military forces to Gaza Strip, and the matter is still under review at multiple political and military levels.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif said the proposal to send troops to Gaza is under consideration by the relevant government institutions.

“Gaza is close to my heart. If the Islamic world reaches a consensus to deploy forces, it would be our honor to participate and support the oppressed people of Gaza,” he told local media outlets.

Asif emphasized that any decision must be reviewed in Pakistan’s parliament and among political parties and security agencies before a final government position is determined.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information dismissed reports circulating in some Indian media claiming that 20,000 Pakistani troops would be sent to Gaza, calling such reports “baseless and fabricated propaganda.” The ministry confirmed that no official plan to deploy forces to the Middle East has been approved to date.
