Mutaqi: Pakistan Uses Military Power against Afghanistan Refugees and Trade
DID Press: Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mutaqi sharply criticized Islamabad for what he described as an “unrealistic and rigid” approach, accusing Pakistan of deploying its nuclear and military capabilities against refugees and food trade rather than for regional security.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the fifth specialized class at the Taliban Institute of Diplomacy, Mutaqi said recent talks between the Taliban and Pakistan in Istanbul collapsed due to Pakistan’s “unacceptable demands.” He rejected claims that the Afghan delegation abruptly left the negotiations, insisting the halt was caused by Pakistan’s “unrealistic expectations.”
Mutaqi said Pakistan had requested that the Taliban act against the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and even relocate its members into Afghan territory, a demand he called impossible.
He also accused Pakistan of violating Afghan sovereignty through airstrikes and drone operations, calling for an immediate cessation of such actions. Highlighting closed border crossings and trade restrictions, Mutaqi said: “It is regrettable that a country that considers itself a nuclear power uses its military strength against migrants and the trade of onions and tomatoes. What logic is this, and who benefits?”
He warned that continued actions of this nature could severely damage bilateral relations, stressing that Afghanistan will not allow its territory to be used against any country, while Pakistan remains responsible for its own internal security.
