China Urges Pakistan and Afghanistan to Strengthen Ties

DID Press: China has called on Pakistan and Afghanistan to improve their bilateral relations and cooperate to maintain regional peace and stability, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.

In a press briefing, spokesperson Guo Jiaken responded to Islamabad’s recent allegations that Kabul is sheltering Pakistani Taliban members, emphasizing Beijing’s support for enhanced bilateral ties between the two neighbors.

“China will continue to play a constructive role in facilitating dialogue and cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan to strengthen security and stability in the region,” Guo said.
