Taliban Releases Book Documenting 2,600 Oaths of Loyalty to Akhundzada
DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Higher Education announced the publication of a 295-page book documenting the pledges of allegiance made by more than 2,600 university lecturers and religious scholars to the group’s supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada. The book also releases, for the first time, the full text of Akhundzada’s speech at the Kandahar Scientific Conference.

Sources close to the Taliban government say the Ministry has prepared a book titled «سمعاً وطاعةً یا امیرالمؤمنین حفظهالله تعالی و رعاک» The volume compiles official records of collective pledges to Akhundzada and spans 295 pages.
In addition to the names and documentation of the 2,600 pledges, the book publishes the complete transcript of the Taliban leader’s address at the Kandahar scientific gathering—an event hosted by Nangarhar University that focused on the “value and impact of teaching Islamic culture subjects in universities.”
In his speech, Akhundzada emphasized the necessity of Islamic education, the independence of judges in issuing Sharia rulings, and the full implementation of Islamic law, saying that the “survival of the system depends on justice, the unity of scholars, and ending oppression.”
The book also includes narratives, reflections, and accounts of meetings between lecturers and the Taliban leader, capturing their sentiments, positions, and motivations for supporting the Taliban administration.
According to the Taliban’s Ministry of Higher Education, the purpose of publishing this book is to provide students and interested readers with access to the documentation of pledges and the views of the Taliban leader.
The Taliban government has previously released another book titled “The Supreme Leader’s Travelogue,” which detailed Akhundzada’s visits and speeches during trips to northern provinces. A second edition—“Meetings, Speeches, and Guidance”—was launched in Balkh Province, authored by Zabihullah Noori, the former head of the Taliban’s Information and Culture Department in Balkh.
