CSO: Afghanistan must boost economic growth
The Central Statistics Organization (CSO) urged the government to enhance their efforts in boosting the economy to increase the annual economic growth due to the population growth.
According to CSO, Afghanistan has a 3% annual economic growth while the population growth is more than 2% per annum.
“The economic growth should be more than 4% to meet the country’s economy needs. The government is responsible for ensuring a balanced and stable economic growth. The economic growth rate must be increased, maintained and managed,” said CSO’s deputy head Haseeb Moahid. According to (Wadsam).
Meanwhile, the Afghan Ministry of Economy argues that the growth in the economy is higher than that of the population.
“The government continues its efforts to develop people’s lives. The core objective of every economic plan we implement is to sustain a stable economic growth in the country, alleviate poverty and create jobs,” said ministry’s spokesperson Suhrab Bahman.
