98 Palestinian Detainees Die in Israeli Jails Due to Torture, Medical Neglect

DID Press: An Israeli medical and human rights organization has reported that at least 98 Palestinian detainees have died in Israeli prisons since the start of the Gaza war, citing torture, starvation, and denial of medical care as the leading causes.

In its newly released report, the organization said the deaths represent an unprecedented escalation in both scale and severity.

According to the group, conditions for Palestinian prisoners have deteriorated sharply in recent months, with numerous accounts of systematic abuse, violent interrogations, and the near-total absence of essential medical services.

The organization called for an independent international investigation into the deaths, as well as urgent international monitoring of detention facilities to prevent further violations.
