DID Press: Leaders of Germany, France, UK, and Ukraine have jointly emphasized the importance of Europe playing a central role in the U.S.-proposed peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. They stressed that any agreement must safeguard European and Ukrainian interests.

In a joint phone call on Friday, November 21, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the proposed U.S. peace framework. According to German government spokesperson Stefan Cornelius, the leaders welcomed Washington’s efforts to find a solution to end the conflict.
