DID Press: Venezuela’s vice president has strongly condemned recent statements and threats by U.S. President Donald Trump, stressing that the country will never submit to Washington’s interventionist policies.
Speaking in response to Trump’s remarks, the Venezuelan official said Caracas remains a sovereign and independent nation and will not become a colony of any foreign power.
Describing the U.S. president’s rhetoric as “colonialist,” the vice president argued that such statements once again reveal Washington’s long-standing intention to dominate Venezuela’s natural resources.
She added that the United States has consistently sought to use political and economic pressure to advance its own interests at the expense of Venezuelan sovereignty.
The vice president emphasized that both the Venezuelan government and its people will stand firm against any external threats and will not allow decisions about the country’s future or its national resources to be made beyond its borders.
