DID Press: Ummat Unity Conference of Pakistan called on the government to prevent the deployment of Pakistani military forces to Gaza for the purpose of disarming Hamas, according to a statement issued at the end of the gathering.
The conference, held in Karachi city with the participation of a number of Pakistani religious scholars, urged the government to refrain from sending any military personnel to Gaza.
In its final statement, the gathering expressed full support for the struggle of the Palestinian people and the liberation of Jerusalem, stressing that despite the announcement of a ceasefire, Israeli attacks and restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid are continuing.
Participants rejected any pressure to deploy Pakistani forces to disarm Hamas, emphasizing that Pakistan’s army should not be used against the Palestinian resistance or the struggle of the Palestinian people.
