Kazakhstan to Build 200-Bed Modern Hospital in Afghanistan

DID Press: Kazakhstan plans to build a fully equipped 200-bed hospital in Afghanistan, according to the Kazakh chargé d’affaires during a meeting with provincial authorities in Balkh province.

Balkh governor’s office said the Kazakh diplomat informed Governor Mohammad Yousuf Wafa that the project reflects Astana’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s public health system. The facility will be outfitted with advanced medical equipment and is expected to strengthen access to treatment and improve service quality for local residents.

Local officials noted that the project forms part of broader humanitarian and development assistance initiatives. During the meeting, both sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in healthcare and aid programs aimed at supporting vulnerable communities.

Details on the construction timeline, location, and financing arrangements have not yet been disclosed.
