UN Highlights Progress in Afghanistan amid Ongoing Crises in 2025
DID Press: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has highlighted notable development gains in Afghanistan during 2025, despite ongoing crises and deep challenges.

According to the report, Afghanistan’s story is not only one of hardship; tangible progress has been made through local participation and the expansion of essential services.
Health services have been restored, with clinics and medical centers reopening to provide primary care for children and adults. Agricultural lands have been revitalized, boosting local food production and contributing to improved food security.
Women have expanded their businesses, creating greater economic opportunities, while numerous families displaced by crises have returned to their homes and are actively participating in local reconstruction projects. Infrastructure improvements have increased access to clean water and healthcare services.
The UNDP report stresses that, despite these advances, Afghanistan continues to face serious economic, social, and security challenges and requires ongoing international support and sustainable development programs.
The UN expressed hope that this positive trajectory will continue, improving living conditions for people across the country in the years ahead.
