DID Press: US President Donald Trump said negotiations to end the war in Ukraine are “about 95 percent” complete and that the parties are close to reaching an agreement.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump said he had held more than two hours of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin prior to the meeting, adding that those discussions had also contributed to progress in the peace process.
Trump also said he had held joint consultations with the leaders of France, Finland, Poland, Norway, Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany, as well as with the NATO secretary-general and the president of the European Commission. He described the talks as “constructive and very good.”
