Herat Sends 114 Shipments and over $500,000 in Aid to Gaza

DID Press: Over the past 18 months, the people of Herat province have contributed more than 42 million Afghanis (approximately $500,000) in cash aid along with 114 shipments of essential goods to support residents of Gaza, reported local organizers.

Officials coordinating the humanitarian campaign in Herat said that each shipment included an average of $5,000 to $10,000 in cash alongside clothing, food, hygiene items, and other essential supplies.

Amir Mohammad Khadem, the campaign head, emphasized that aid collection continues weekly, with new shipments being prepared and sent regularly, and called on the public to increase participation.

The initiative comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza, which have exacerbated humanitarian conditions in the region. International organizations have repeatedly warned of shortages in food, medical services, and shelter.
