Ex-Israeli Minister Ya’alon Blames Netanyahu for October 7 Tragedy

DID Press: Moshe Ya’alon, former Israeli Defence Minister, launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, holding him directly responsible for the October 7 attacks that left thousands dead and wounded. Ya’alon asserted that Israel is no longer a functioning democracy.

Speaking to Al Mayadeen, Ya’alon cited the deaths of roughly 2,000 military personnel and civilians, along with tens of thousands injured physically and psychologically. He also referenced reports from former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak and investigations into Netanyahu’s alleged mismanagement in incidents including the Meron disaster and the submarine procurement case, saying the Prime Minister has harmed Israel’s security, economy, and international relations.

Ya’alon, a longtime member of the Likud party, called Netanyahu’s cabinet a group of “fugitives and corrupt officials,” urging public mobilization against what he described as a government of “lies, betrayal, and lawlessness.”

These criticisms emerge while Netanyahu faces three major corruption cases.
