Taliban Economy Ministry Official Says “Battle of Narratives” Today’s Main Front
DID Press: Deputy minister at Afghanistan’s Taliban-run Ministry of Economy said the most significant challenge facing the country today is a “battle of narratives” being waged through the media, warning of ongoing efforts to influence public opinion via information warfare.

Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, said in remarks delivered in Kabul that countries opposed to the Taliban’s interim government are seeking to shape public opinion by exploiting media platforms and narrative-based campaigns.
He stated that this media war is aimed at steering public perception and achieving the strategic objectives of adversaries, describing it as the most critical battleground in the current environment.
Nazari added that countering this trend requires strong coordination and cooperation between the public and state institutions, arguing that such unity is necessary for society to withstand what he termed the “battle of narratives.”
