Cement Industry Investment Boosts in Herat, Afghanistan

DID Press: During a visit to Herat cement project, Hidayatullah Badri, Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum under the Taliban government, emphasized that the timely completion of the project will not only strengthen domestic cement production but also create hundreds of new job opportunities for local residents.

Badri, on his official trip to Herat province, urged for faster implementation of the cement project. He emphasized that these initiatives will contribute to industrial self-sufficiency in Afghanistan and help reduce reliance on cement imports.

Highlighting the importance of the project in boosting domestic production, Badri said, “The Herat cement project will play a decisive role in increasing local cement production and will help reduce dependency on imports.”

Additionally, the project will provide numerous employment opportunities for local residents, fostering economic growth in the region.

Badri also mentioned that during the Taliban era, several contracts for large cement projects have been signed across various provinces, aimed at strengthening national industries and reducing imports from foreign countries.

The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum remains focused on similar projects in other provinces to further boost domestic production across different industrial sectors.
