Uzbekistan, Qatar Consult on Stability in Afghanistan

DID Press: Ismatullah Irgashev, Uzbekistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, met with Hassan bin Hamza Hashem, Qatar’s Ambassador to Tashkent, to discuss developments in Afghanistan and the role of bilateral cooperation in promoting regional stability and development.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current situation in Afghanistan and explored ways to expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar in trade and economic affairs, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian fields.

The Qatari ambassador praised Uzbekistan’s active and constructive role in organizing a dedicated Afghanistan meeting within the framework of the Doha Annual Forum held in December 2025, describing it as an important step toward drawing greater international attention to Afghanistan-related issues.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue within the framework of the “Afghanistan Track” and expressed a shared interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation to achieve stability, security, and sustainable development in the region.
