Iran FM: Uranium Enrichment Iran’s Right, Foreign Orders Unacceptable
DID Press: Iranian FM Seyed Abbas Araghchi stressed that uranium enrichment is an inherent right of the Iranian nation, saying no country has the authority to dictate Iran’s nuclear choices.

Speaking at the National Congress on Foreign Policy and the History of Iran’s External Relations, Iranian FM Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Iran has paid a heavy price for its peaceful nuclear program and that enrichment must be viewed through the lens of national independence.
He criticized calls by some countries for Iran to halt enrichment, saying arguments based on “concerns” by adversaries are not logically or legally acceptable. “The notion that an enemy can say, ‘We are worried, therefore you must not enrich,’ is not a valid rationale,” said Araghchi.
He added that any questions regarding Iran’s nuclear program should be addressed solely through diplomacy, noting that even attacks on nuclear facilities have failed to halt Iran’s chosen path.
Araghchi emphasized that negotiations can only yield results when the rights of the Iranian people are acknowledged and respected.
