Taliban Official Declares Afghanistan “Bitter Tree” for Enemies

DID Press: Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs in the Taliban government, reiterated caretaker administration’s firm and unwavering stance on security and foreign policy during a speech at the Ministry of Defense.

Referring to the Taliban’s defensive capabilities, Baradar said Afghanistan is not an “easy target” for any party, but rather a “bitter tree” that ill-intentioned adversaries cannot digest.

He emphasized that the Taliban’s approach is based on peaceful engagement: Afghanistan neither harms anyone nor allows itself to be threatened or attacked by any party.

Baradar further underlined the transparency of the Taliban’s diplomacy, asserting the government’s current policies are fully aligned with Islamic law, and all state decisions are grounded in this principle.
