Heavy Snow and Rain Forecast for 16 Provinces Across Afghanistan
DID Press: Afghanistan’s meteorological authority under the Taliban-run Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation issued a warning of heavy snowfall and rainfall across 16 provinces on Sunday (Feb. 15), urging residents to take precautionary measures.

According to the department, precipitation is expected in the provinces of Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand, Kandahar, Zabul, Paktia, Ghazni, Uruzgan, Daikundi, Ghor, Badghis, Faryab, Sar-e Pol, Bamyan, and Maidan Wardak.
Snowfall in some areas is forecast to range between 10 and 45 centimetres, while rainfall is expected to reach between 10 and 45 millimetres.
Strong winds with speeds of 50 to 95 kilometers per hour are also predicted in western, southern, and south-eastern provinces, raising the risk of transport disruptions and damage to infrastructure.
The meteorological authority warned of a heightened risk of flash flooding in warmer provinces and called on citizens to observe safety precautions, particularly in flood-prone and mountainous areas.
