Zardari Defends Pakistan’s Airstrikes in Afghanistan as Anti-Terror Measure
DID Press: Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari defended his country’s recent airstrikes in Afghanistan, describing them as an inherent right to protect Pakistani citizens against organized terrorist threats.

Zardari said that repeated warnings from Pakistan to the Taliban to prevent terrorist group activities were ignored, leaving military action as a necessary response.
He further warned that the Taliban have created conditions in Afghanistan similar to—or even worse than—those prior to the September 11 attacks, posing a serious threat to regional and global security.
“The consequences of allowing terrorist groups to operate across national borders with impunity ultimately affect civilians worldwide,” said Zardari, urging the international community to pay closer attention to the transnational threat posed by such organizations.
