Kabul Protesters Display Yellow Barrels in Symbolic Rally Supporting Taliban
DID Press: Following intensified border clashes and continued Pakistani airstrikes, a group of Kabul residents staged a protest march carrying Taliban flags. Participants condemned recent attacks while expressing support for the Taliban government and its security forces.

Media outlets close to the Taliban reported that the gathering included religious scholars, tribal elders, youth, and other segments of society, emphasizing the need for national unity and solidarity against what they described as “foreign aggression.” Protesters denounced Pakistan’s violation of Afghanistan’s land and airspace and affirmed that the people stand alongside the Taliban government against any threats to the country’s territorial integrity.
Images from the rally showed some participants carrying yellow barrels—a symbol previously used in Taliban suicide operations against the Afghan republic and foreign forces. Today, these barrels have become part of street demonstrations, military parades, and even Taliban war museums, symbolizing the group’s “suicide power.”
