Daily Trade Flows Between Afghanistan and Iran Continue Amid Tensions
DID Press: Border officials in Herat report that commercial transit between Afghanistan and Iran is continuing normally despite rising tensions in Iran.

Zaeem Agha, Border Commissioner of Islam Qala, said an average of 600 trucks depart daily to Iran while about 700 trucks enter Herat from Iran. He emphasized that trade flows are proceeding without major disruptions.
Local authorities stressed that the government maintains strict oversight of domestic markets, warning traders against exploiting the situation to artificially raise prices. Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi, spokesperson for Herat province, said: “Any trader attempting to hike prices under the pretext of border closures will face legal action.”
Meanwhile, the Consulate General of Iran in Herat confirmed that trade and transit activities remain stable, with operations continuing at the Islam Qala border post despite regional tensions and security concerns.
Authorities assured that commercial activity and transit are secure, allowing citizens and businesses to continue buying and selling goods without fear of shortages.
