Afghanistan’s 4G Internet Users Near 10 Million, Taliban Says

DID Press: Taliban-run Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology says the number of people using 4G internet services in Afghanistan has reached nearly 10 million.

Inayatullah Alokozay, spokesperson for the ministry, said there are currently around 32 million active SIM cards in Afghanistan, while nearly 17 million people use internet services.

Alokozay attributed the growing access to internet services largely to the expansion of telecommunications network coverage across different parts of Afghanistan.

The figures indicate a significant expansion of mobile internet access in Afghanistan, although the ministry did not provide a breakdown of 4G users by mobile operator or province.
