Russia’s FM Questions Arab Leaders on Silence Over Minab School Bombing

DID Press: Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, sharply criticized Arab rulers for their response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, asking whether they had condemned the bombing of 170 schoolgirls in Minab.

Lavrov noted that while many Arab monarchies publicly opposed a military solution and promised not to allow use of their airspace, they failed to denounce the actions of the United States and Israel once the attacks began, despite repeated appeals.

He highlighted reports that some Arab states, including Bahrain, were preparing a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Iranian strikes without addressing U.S. or Israeli actions.

“Simply stating that Iran has no right to respond effectively encourages the U.S. and Israel to continue their operations, which contradicts logic,” Lavrov said.

He called for a united front to end the war, emphasizing that selective condemnation undermines efforts to stabilize the region and fails to address the full scope of violence.
