DID Press: Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, has congratulated Ayatollah Sayed Mojtaba Khamenei on his selection as the new leader of Iran amid what Moscow described as an “armed aggression” against the country.
Putin stated, “I am confident that you will honorably continue your father’s path and unite the Iranian people.”
He also reaffirmed Moscow’s position, adding, “I would like once again to emphasize my firm support for Tehran.”
