ICRC Provides Cash Aid to Returning Afghan Families in Nangarhar
DID Press: International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has provided cash assistance to approximately 2,000 returning families in Nangarhar to meet their immediate needs. Many of these families are living in open-air conditions without proper shelter, and the support aims to help them cover urgent necessities.

The ICRC emphasized that the aid is intended to support returnees and ensure they can live with dignity in Afghanistan.
Earlier, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric warned of the humanitarian consequences of escalating regional conflicts and the challenges faced by Afghan migrants.
Since October 2023, more than 5 million Afghans have returned from Iran and Pakistan, placing significant pressure on the country’s human and economic resources.
