China Warns US Over Military Use of AI, Cites “Terminator”-Style Risks
DID Press: China on Wednesday cautioned the United States that excessive use of artificial intelligence in military operations could push the world toward a dystopian future reminiscent of the film Terminator.

Jiang Bin, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Defense, warned that unrestricted AI deployment by the military, using AI to violate other nations’ sovereignty, or delegating life-and-death decisions to algorithms could erode ethics and accountability in warfare while triggering technological runaway risks.
He added that the dystopian scenario depicted in the Hollywood movie might one day become reality.
The Trump administration has sought to pursue unlimited AI applications in the military. The Pentagon confirmed that Elon Musk’s Grok system is approved for use in secure environments. However, Anthropic was blacklisted after refusing to allow its Claude AI model for mass surveillance and autonomous warfare purposes.
In response, Trump ordered all federal agencies to halt use of Anthropic’s technology.
