Pakistan President Warns Taliban After Cross-Border Attacks

DID Press: Taliban forces claimed that they killed 14 Pakistani soldiers and captured a military outpost along the Nangarhar-Kunar border. The Pakistani President condemned the attacks, stating that the Taliban had crossed a “red line.”

According to a Taliban Defense Ministry statement, their forces conducted ground and drone operations in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces, killing 14 Pakistani soldiers and wounding 11 others. During the operations, a Pakistani military outpost was seized, and a tank and military vehicle were destroyed.

Taliban-controlled media described the operation in Dur Baba district of Nangarhar as “retaliatory.” The Defense Ministry also said that the Hamza military center in Faizabad, Islamabad, was targeted by their drone attacks.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the Taliban strikes on Pakistani territory via social media, emphasizing that attacks on civilians would not be tolerated. He stressed that Taliban forces had crossed a “red line” and that Afghan territory should not be used for terrorist actions against neighboring countries.
