Pakistan Airstrikes in Kandahar Target Taliban Leader’s Security Unit

DID Press: Pakistani military has conducted airstrikes in Kandahar targeting a specialized unit responsible for protecting the Taliban leader.

Pakistani media reported that the night-time operation struck at least five locations in Kandahar. The attacks reportedly included Taliban intelligence offices, a military and training base, and the elite “Unit 313.”

Unit 313 is tasked with guarding Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, making the strikes a potential security and political challenge for the group.

No reports of casualties have been confirmed, and neither the Taliban nor Pakistani authorities have issued official statements.

Pakistani media noted that the airstrikes are part of broader military operations to counter Taliban activity in key border areas of Afghanistan.
