Iran Launches Drone Strikes on Israeli Security Facilities

DID Press: Islamic Republic of Iran Army said it carried out drone strikes early today targeting security and special police facilities of Israel in response to recent attacks against Iran.

According to statement No. 29 issued by the army’s public relations office, the operation was conducted as an act of legitimate defense of the Iranian people and a response to what it described as overt actions by Israel.

The statement said the targets included security centers and police headquarters such as the special police unit Lahav 433 and the satellite communications center Gilat Defense.

Lahav 433 is considered comparable to a federal investigative body such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, responsible for tackling complex and organized crimes.

Gilat Defense provides satellite communication technologies and has cooperated on projects with the United States Department of Defense and North Atlantic Treaty Organization for military-related applications.

Iran’s army stressed that any attack against the country would receive a firm and decisive response.
