Pakistani Border Shelling Kills 4 Civilians in Eastern Afghanistan

DID Press: Four civilians were killed and nine others wounded after Pakistani forces shelled border areas in eastern Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, officials from the Taliban administration said.

Hamdullah Fitrat said mortar and artillery fire struck border districts in several provinces, including Nuristan, Khost, Kunar and Paktika.

According to Fitrat, several residential houses were hit in the districts of Alisher District, Zazi Maidan District and Gurbuz District, where a number of women and children were among the casualties.

In Kunar, artillery shells struck a home in Nari District, sparking a fire that damaged the building.

Meanwhile, dozens of mortar rounds were fired in the districts of Shkin District and Barmal District, damaging evacuated houses and some facilities but causing no reported casualties.
