DID Press: Donald Trump claimed that the US is “very close” to achieving its objectives in a potential conflict with Iran.

Trump, who has previously outlined multiple goals regarding Iran, said the current focus would be on weakening Iran’s missile capabilities, launch sites, and its military, naval, and air forces.
He added that the U.S. is now considering a significant reduction of its military presence in the Middle East.
Trump also backtracked on his earlier promise to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that “the Strait of Hormuz should be protected by the countries that use it; we will not be operating there.”
Critics say this shift highlights contradictions in Washington’s commitments and signals that the U.S., facing rising tensions it cannot control, is shifting responsibility to others while avoiding the costs of fulfilling its previous promises.
