Taliban Confirms Torkham Crossing Will Remain Closed on March 25

DID Press: Obaidullah Aqaab Farooqi, spokesperson for the Taliban’s General Directorate of Border Police, stated that reports about reopening the Torkham Border Crossing on March 25 are “false and baseless.” The crossing will remain closed.

Earlier, some Pakistani sources had claimed that Islamabad was preparing to reopen the crossing to deport undocumented migrants back to Afghanistan. Taliban border officials have firmly denied these reports.

The continued closure of Torkham, a key trade route between Afghanistan and Pakistan, is significantly affecting daily life and commercial activities in the region.
