Over 2,000 Afghan Farming Families Receive Wheat Seed Packages

DID Press: In 2025, FAO, supported by the European Union, distributed certified wheat seed packages to more than 2,000 farming families in Afghanistan’s Badghis, Helmand, and Kandahar.

Each package includes 50 kilograms of certified wheat seed, 100 kilograms of fertilizer, and guidance on planting techniques. Officials noted that continued widespread rainfall across western, southern, southeastern, eastern, and central regions is expected to support spring crop growth and pasture regeneration.
