DID Press: An armed assault on a police vehicle in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulted in the death of one officer and injuries to three others on Saturday.
According to police officials, the attack occurred in the Shikhan Mama Khel area while officers were performing routine duties. Gunmen opened fire on the vehicle.
In response, police returned fire, killing two assailants and wounding four others. The attackers also set the police vehicle on fire following the assault.
The incident comes amid reports from Pakistani authorities of a 65% decrease in terrorist attacks in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
