DID Press: Wang Yi, China’s Wang Yi, announced on Sunday that the fundamental solution to navigation issues in the Strait of Hormuz is reaching an immediate ceasefire. He made the remarks during a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, amid escalating regional tensions.

According to Chinese media, Wang Yi emphasized the role of China and Russia as permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, stressing that both countries must adopt fair, objective, and balanced approaches on key issues and work to garner broader international support.
He added that China has consistently advocated resolving regional and international issues through dialogue and negotiation and is ready to continue cooperation with Russia in the Security Council to reduce tensions, maintain regional peace and stability, and promote global security.
Meanwhile, Sergey Lavrov expressed Russia’s deep concern over the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and stressed the necessity of an immediate halt to military actions. He called for the conflicting parties to return to political and diplomatic channels to address the root causes of the crisis.
Lavrov also highlighted the important role of the UN Security Council and stated that Russia is prepared to maintain close coordination with China to work toward achieving a ceasefire.
