DID Press: Abbas Araghchi, speaking on behalf of the Supreme National Security Council, expressed appreciation for the role and efforts of Pakistan in helping to end the war and reduce regional tensions.

In the statement, Araghchi emphasized that the Iran supports any regional or international initiative aimed at halting hostilities and restoring stability, describing Pakistan’s role as “constructive and significant.”
The Iranian foreign minister also announced that if military attacks by the United States cease, Iran’s armed forces will likewise suspend their defensive operations.
These remarks come amid a sharp escalation in tensions between Tehran and Washington in recent days, raising concerns about the potential expansion of the conflict across the region.
In another part of the statement, Araghchi reported that conditions have been established to ensure safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. He said that for a period of two weeks, maritime transit will be permitted safely, coordinated by Iran’s armed forces and subject to existing technical restrictions. This measure could play a significant role in easing international concerns about energy security and shipping along this critical route.
