DID Press: China has played a significant role in facilitating the temporary ceasefire between United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a recent report by the Associated Press, Chinese officials initially worked through intermediary countries, including Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt, to create a framework for negotiations. Subsequently, Beijing directly contacted Iranian authorities to encourage Tehran to accept the ceasefire.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the bilateral ceasefire will last for two weeks.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited U.S. and Iranian delegations to Islamabad on April 10 to continue negotiations and advance the peace process.
