Taliban Inspects Torkham Crossing Amid Rising Migrant Returns

DID Press: Mawlawi Abdulmanan Hassan, the military deputy of the Border Police under the Interior Ministry of the Taliban administration, has conducted an inspection visit to the Torkham border Commissionerate, security checkpoints, and the conditions of returning migrants.

According to released information, Hassan closely reviewed the operational performance of security forces and the delivery of services to returning migrants during the visit. He emphasized the need to improve coordination among relevant agencies working at the border.

He also instructed local authorities to take serious and effective measures to enhance administrative processes, strengthen security arrangements, and provide necessary facilities for migrants. According to him, better management of migrant conditions and ensuring security in border areas remain key priorities for responsible institutions.

The Torkham Border Crossing is considered one of the most significant border points between Afghanistan and Pakistan, handling large volumes of daily travel and the return of migrants to the country.

This development comes as the pace of Afghan migrant returns from neighboring countries has increased in recent months, intensifying the need for improved management systems and expanded basic services for returnees.
