Pakistan Navy Chief Warns India Amid Rising Tensions Over Hormuz Crisis

DID Press: Commander of the Pakistan Navy warned India against any provocative actions, stating that Pakistan’s armed forces remain at their highest level of operational readiness amid rising regional tensions.

Admiral Naveed Ashraf, speaking at a graduation ceremony for Pakistan Air Force officers, said the Indian Navy had “not dared to come close” during recent escalations and that Pakistan is capable of delivering a “strong and appropriate response” to any aggression.

He highlighted ongoing naval modernization efforts and the development of indigenous long-range weapon systems, describing Pakistan’s enhanced capabilities across surface, sub-surface, and aerial domains.

The naval chief also referred to broader regional risks linked to potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz amid reported tensions involving the United States and Israel, saying Pakistan is closely monitoring developments and prepared for all contingencies.

He further praised Islamabad’s diplomatic and military efforts to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the United States, including proposed talks hosted in Islamabad.

Ashraf added that Pakistan’s ability to target coastal infrastructure and critical maritime supply routes remains a key deterrent factor in the evolving security environment.
