DID Press: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed appreciation for US President Donald Trump over the decision to extend the ceasefire, stating that Islamabad will continue diplomatic efforts to advance dialogue and achieve a lasting peace agreement between the parties.

Sharif said that both he and Field Marshal Asim Munir welcome the extension of the truce and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to resolving conflicts through negotiations. He expressed hope that both sides will continue to respect the ceasefire.
The Pakistani prime minister also said Islamabad expects the upcoming second round of talks, planned to be held in Pakistan, to pave the way for a comprehensive peace agreement and a permanent end to hostilities.
Meanwhile, President Trump stated on the social media platform X that senior Pakistani officials had urged the United States not to carry out any attack on Iran, adding that the ceasefire would remain in place until the completion of ongoing negotiations.
