Trump Envoys Head to Islamabad as Iran Rejects Direct Talks with US

DID Press: Envoys of Donald Trump are traveling to Islamabad to continue consultations on extending a ceasefire, while Iran has reiterated that no direct negotiations with the United States are planned.

U.S. officials said Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, two representatives of President Trump, are set to arrive in Islamabad to continue diplomatic efforts aimed at maintaining the current ceasefire arrangement.

However, Iranian authorities have firmly stated that any communication or proposals from Washington will be conveyed exclusively through Pakistani mediation channels, ruling out face-to-face meetings with the American delegation.

Officials in Tehran emphasized that direct negotiations will remain off the table as long as Washington continues what they describe as policies of pressure, threats, and unilateral conditions.

The development underscores the continuing reliance on third-party mediation in managing tensions between Iran and the United States, with Pakistan playing a central diplomatic role in facilitating indirect dialogue.
